“A Weed by Any Other Name…”
Matthew 13:24-30

The purple thistle is a national symbol for Scotland, but to farmers and ranchers here in the United States it is a terrible weed and a nuisance. Extremely prolific with seeds carried on the wind, and extremely hard to get rid of a farmer will go to great lengths to get rid of it! In the scripture, someone snuck into the farmer’s field and sowed some terrible weeds. The wise farmer said, let them grow and we’ll sort it out at harvest time. The Kingdom of God is like that… weeds and fruitful disciples growing side by side. Which one are we?
