Care Ministry
Respite Care Ministry
This ministry serves families with children who are differently-abled. Respite Care provides a fun and safe place for the children, so their parents can have a break from their constant care-giving situations. We meet from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month and welcome anyone who would like to help.
Respite Care currently serves families within our church and Day School family. There is a tremendous need in our community for Respite Care, and we would love to grow this ministry with more volunteers! There are a number of ways you can serve:
- Be a "Respite Buddy”-- come and play with the children! No special training is required!
- Greet and check families in as they arrive
- Provide & serve snacks
There is no charge to the families who use Respite Care, so we always welcome any monetary donations. And most of all, we ask that you pray for this new ministry…for the families who will be coming and for those who have said “yes” to serving in such a special way.
Faithful Friends Sunday School
A special class where children with special needs are shown love and care and taught about the love of Jesus and faith in ways that are personalized and designed with each child’s abilities in mind. The teachers all have a deep passion to love and care for these children. This class meets on Sundays in room 161 at 10:00 a.m. The child’s parent or caregiver is required to stay with the class the first day the child attends.
Memory Loss Support Group for Caregivers
Whether it is due to a stroke, vascular issues, Alzheimers, or some other issue, many of the issues caregivers of persons with memory loss encounter are the same. Please call Cindy at the church office for more information on this group, which meets monthly.
